at the Washington Park Refectory

Washington Park Conservancy planting day

The Washington Park Conservancy will be meeting between 9am & Noon, the 20th of June, South of 55th Street & North of the Fountain of Time by the Lagoon along Payne Drive. They will be planting native wetland specie, ask for event organizer Madiem Kawa. The Conservancy meets every third Saturday of the month except in the Winter.

WASHINGTON PARK SUPER PLAYGROUND OPENING
The super playground is almost done. Check with the field house at Washington Park for further info on the grand opening.

WASHINGTON PARK FUN RUN
From noon till 1pm starting at the southwest side of the bridal path (Garfield & Elsworth Drive).

WASHINGTON PARK SUMMER CAMPS BEGIN

The park will offer Aquatics, Fitness, Performing Arts & Sports camps weekdays, with some activities on weekends. Day camps & other special camps are available too.

Washington Park Running Club will be having it's year's first walk/run. Current members and new comers welcome. More details and contact info to follow.

Feb. 9th, 2008
Nine children from Washington Park programs have been chosen to take part in a skiing trip on Feb. 9th. The Washing Park Advisory Council is looking to raise at least $20 per child to make this a memorable trip for them. Donations can be made directly to the WPAC via Cecilia Butler 773.667.4160.

Feb. 28th & 29th, 2008
The Washington Park Field House will hold it's annual Ashaki Celebration Feb. 28th & 29th. ("Ashaki" is an African word for Beautiful). Admission will be $2 per person. More information can be given by contacting the field house at 312.747.5109.
